ABOUT THE COURSE
The Sociocracy for Schools (S4S) course aims to support individuals in schools, learning communities, educational projects and organisations with the implementation of a democratic governance based on sociocracy.
Course Details – April 2025
Beginning: 16 April
Wednesdays at 8am – 10am EDT / 1pm – 3pm BST / 2pm – 4pm CEST (Check your timezone here)
Duration: 6 weeks = 6 sessions (2h each)
The course is designed for educators, school managers, parents, students and anyone else interested in applying democratic governance in an educational context. Throughout the course, you will develop practical skills to implement sociocracy in your own environment, whether in a school, community, university, organisation or family.
The Sociocracy for Schools (S4S) course emphasizes experiential learning. You will be organised into small groups to practice consent-based decision-making and open elections, which can be applied in any meeting with students, staff and parents. It also includes time for participants to design a circle structure and learn the sociocratic decision-making process through role play using real examples that we collected from schools worldwide. Participants are encouraged to bring their own topics to the circle, allowing us to practice with issues relevant to the group.
The aim is to empower participants providing you with the opportunity to develop facilitation skills that can be immediately applied in your context after the course.
We regularly offer a public course, and you can also book a private training tailored to your specific needs. Please get in touch via email to inquire: contact@wonderingschool.org
