ABOUT S4S COURSE

Sociocracy for Schools (S4S) is a live, hands-on, workshop-style course for teachers/educators, school leaders, parents, students, and people working in learning communities, universities, and educational organizations who want to strengthen democratic governance in education, grounded in student agency and collaborative decision-making.

Sociocracy (the Sociocratic Circle Method / Dynamic Governance) offers a practical way to run school councils, staff teams, parent circles, and youth groups using consent-based decision-making (instead of majority rule), clear circle meetings, and inclusive structures. Over 6 weeks (12 hours online), you’ll learn by doing in small groups, practicing open elections, roles, and facilitation, designing a circle structure that fits your context, and working with real topics from your community. As part of the course, you’ll also watch the sociocracy training version of the School Circles documentary, with real examples from schools.
